Verified! Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ unleashed on Netflix with an extended Cut

Ranbir Kapoor’s hit film is coming to Netflix on Republic Day (January 26, 2024) with some bonus footage. YES! The rumours are true! ‘Animal,’ is now ready to make its digital debut with an extended cut! The film has created a lot of buzz around it having an extended cut, now reports have confirmed that the OTT release will be a few minutes longer than the original theatrical release, generating accentuated excitement among the fans.  Originally the film was timed at  3 hours and 21 minutes,  now it will boast an additional 8 minutes, stretching the total runtime to 3 hours and 29 minutes. Reports suggest that this extended cut will feature an additional scene with Rashmika Mandanna adding a new flavour to the narrative.

The rumours were true! The rumor spread like forest fire after Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed in a recent interview that the OTT release will include scenes originally cut from the theatrical version sharing plans to incorporate scenes initially omitted from the theatrical release.

He regretted having to make those cuts earlier and said, “Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra,” hinting at a more complete story for viewers.

Animal,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor, transpires a gripping tale about a son’s unwavering loyalty to his absent father. Even after facing a lot of criticism for its portrayal of women, Severe aggression and violence, the film is now one of the major Indian blockbusters of 2023. It is currently, the third-highest-earning film at the box office with a total collection of Rs 915 crore. The film’s OTT release faces tough competition with the theatrical release of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Fighter’ which also releases on the extended Republic Day weekend.
