Ranbir Kapoor has made his mark in the Rs 500-cr club with the success of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie, “Animal.” The film witnessed a significant jump in its box office collection on its third Sunday and continues to hold hopes of breaking more records before concluding its run.

On day 17, “Animal” reportedly earned an estimated Rs 15 crore at the box office, leading to a total of Rs 35 crore on the third weekend. As a result, the film has crossed the Rs 512 crore mark in India. Notably, Ranbir Kapoor is now the third Bollywood actor, after Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol, to be a part of the Rs 500 crore club.

The film has collected an estimated Rs 466 crore in Hindi, and its global earnings are quickly approaching the Rs 850 crore milestone.

According to reports, the film “Animal” is aiming to surpass the all-India net collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which stood at Rs 543 crore. However, it seems that surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s other release, “Jawan,” may be out of reach for “Animal.” “Jawan,” directed by Atlee, had reportedly earned Rs 640 crore in the all-India net collection.

“Animal” is aiming to break two records in terms of Hindi collections: Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which earned Rs 524 crore, and Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2,” which made an impressive comeback with collections of Rs 525 crore.

However, to surpass these records, “Animal” would need to collect more than Rs 50 crore from this point onward. This indicates that there is still some ground to cover for the film to achieve these milestones.

The success of “Animal” in the long run will be determined by the number of screens and showcasing it receives in the third week, as two major films, Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy-drama “Dunki” and Prabhas’ action drama “Salaar,” are set to release over the Christmas season.

“Animal” would hope to retain a significant number of screens and showcase alongside these films to benefit from the Christmas holiday crowd. This will be critical in determining whether or not the picture can shatter the large lifetime records. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna in addition to Ranbir Kapoor.

Box Office Collection of Fighter on Day 2: The film registers a "Massive Growth"

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s film Fighter saw a significant increase in box office collection on its second day, after underperforming on its opening day, minting over ₹41 crore. According to Industry Analyst Taran Adarsh, this growth is attributed to 2 factors: positive word-of-mouth reviews and the Republic Day holiday. The mass pockets contributed significantly to raising the number higher on Friday. Analyst Taran Adarsh predicts the film has a strong chance of performing well if it maintains this speed over the weekend. Fighter minted ₹ 41.20 crore on its day 2 of release and the total stands at ₹ 65.80 crore. Industry analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Fighter sets BO on fire, is EXTRAORDINARY on Day 2, benefits largely due to two factors: [i] Excellent feedback from the audience and [ii] Republic Day holiday… Mass pockets – which underperformed on Day 1 – witness massive growth on Day 2, thus contributing to the impressive total.

He also stated, The tremendous growth on Day 2 gives the film a solid chance to march forward… If Sat and Sun maintain the speed, a massive total is certainly on the cards… Frankly, it’s too early to guesstimate a figure for the 4-day extended weekend, since mass belt and spot bookings can elevate the situation on Sat and Sun multifold… So let’s wait and watch.

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, In his review for NDTV, stated that he gives  Fighter 2.5 stars and wrote, “Scripted by Ramon Chibb with Siddharth Anand, Fighter works best when it decides to slow down a tad in the second half. Its emotional high point occurs when Samsher meets Minal’s father (Ashutosh Rana) and mother (Geeta Agrawal) by accident and proceeds to impress upon them the enormity of their daughter’s achievements. Among the pilots in the Air Dragons team formed after the early 2019 terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama is Basheer Khan (Akshay Oberoi). He gets to spout what are by far the most patriotic lines in the film – a repeat of a poignant and patriotically pointed couplet that Shamsher recites early in the film.

The film Fighter is directed by Siddharth Anand and features Hrithik and Deepika, Anil Kapoor. They are an elite team that is called upon to respond to a threat from across the border. The film also stars Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Rishabh Sawhney, and Sanjeeda Sheikh.

Fighter’s box office performance has shown a positive turnaround after an underperformed start. Its future success will depend on how well it continues to perform over the coming days.

Movie "Fighter" advancebookings put Bollywood in shock

The director of the film, Siddharth Anand has a track record of delivering the biggest blockbuster considering last year’s Pathaan. The lead role of the film is Hrithik Roshan who is regarded as a huge action star and the lead actress is Deepika Padukone who is also a leading star, the supporting cast is also huge with actors like Anil Kapoor.

The movie is a heavy action film with big chase sequences. After accumulating all these elements, it was expected that the film would open with huge numbers at the box office. The masterminds of Bollywood anticipated a 40Cr+ start for the film on opening day and, they expected a record number for day 2 as it is a national public holiday. But the advances for Fighter are highly shocking, the expectation for the opening number has gone down to less than 20Cr which is highly disappointing.

Movie "Fighter" advancebookings put Bollywood in shock

The advance bookings in national multiplexes have not crossed 1L which is very low, and the movie is getting released tomorrow. The buzz around FIGHTER could impact the film’s performance and have effects on Roshan’s future projects like War 2 which also has NTR as the second lead. Additionally, overseas bookings are also reported to be low, suggesting the film may need strong word-of-mouth to attract audiences. If it gets mixed talk, then the film will not work for such a low buzz.

While this response is shocking, it’s important to remember that box office performance can be unpredictable. The film’s ultimate success will depend on audience reception and critical reviews.
